Mine is quite an easy one right now. I'm ready to come out to some people. So my resolution is to come out to my closest friends gradually in the new year. I might even start it a little sooner then the new year. I also have a second resolution. I didn't do so well in college the last semester. I will get a at least 3.5 in the new semester. I will spend more time on my homework and less time goofing off. What about ya'll? :eusa_danc

    • Learn to talk to new people in person
    • Come out to my parents and closest friends
    • Finish therapy
    • Find a way to not hate myself

Oh...and to get my National Teaching Certification! Hopefully I'll be nationally certified this time next year!

I agree, this semester was my greatest academic year either....

But ultimately, my New Years Resolution is to be very optimistic and outgoing next year, because 2013 is going to be hell for me and I cant afford to slack off or fall apart for here on out.

To let the past be the past. Make people realize that who I was in the past is not who I am now.
Not to be scared to ask for help if I need it.
Figure out my complex gender once and for all.. (that'll probably neve happen in my lifetime..lol)
AND... finally, come out to the people that still somehow have not found out from my parents that I am gay.

    Try to be more social.
Realize that some things (electronics) are not great studying partners.
Take school seriously, especially since junior year is the most important.
Eat less junk food...I haven't gained anything yet, but I know those pounds are just waiting to reveal themselves.

To finally move out on my own once I find that better job.
To get this stupid hernia seen about. It doesn't bulge out, but it sure does hurt. :icon_sad:
I wish I could have "to come out to my mom" on here. But I truly don't know when that day will come (if it ever does).

    - Getting a job for summer
    - Need to work harder next semester, i slacked off this semester and I dread the results...
    - Spend more time with family and friends...last semester I was so busy with other stuff i just didn't get to spend any time with them. Hopefully the coming year brings an improvement
    - Need to build a larger circle outside of school, I cannot revolve my life around school, I need something else...

I used to be vehemently opposed to New Year's resolutions (I mean, why wait for the hanging of a fresh calendar to better yourself?), but now I find myself making them - if only for the sake of reflection for later in the year.

This coming year I'd like to:

    1) Be happier first and foremost. The latter half of 2012 has had me wishing the Mayans were right and didn't just run out of calendar space. It's been hard on my whole family, which just makes it worse. But if I make being happy number one, it stands a decent chance of actually getting some headway on my other resolutions.

    2) Start my food blog. I've wanted to do this for months now. I used to love writing (well, I still love it, but I used to be pretty good at it) and I love food. Blogging about it is essentially my official foray into the world of creative culinarians.

    a) Begin (or continue, since I already have a collection of original recipes) laying the groundwork for my cookbook I intend to write.

    3) I'd usually post the obligatory "lose weight" resolution here (and I probably should, since I'm the heaviest I've ever been...) - but lets be honest. Seeing as this resolution is preceded by blogging about food, I'm doubtful at best. And I don't hate my bigger body anyway. But for the sake of personal betterment, I shall resolve to do some form of physical activity for a minimum of 30 minutes per day at least four or five days per week.

    4) I seem to have thrown my comedic aspirations by the wayside of late, so I also want to he back into writing an original joke every day.

    a) I also want to muster up the balls to go to an open mic night and share my warped views on the world with drunk idiots who will heckle me mercilessly (at least I won't be related to them this time... xD)

    5) Think of others more. It saddens me when I reflect on how many of my sentences start with "I" or "My". Selfish thoughts suck. Or perhaps a thesaurus is simply in order.

    6) I also want to spend more time on EC. It's only been recent, and I've still logged in each day, but I want to get back into connecting with people (albeit only virtually, but still...) and pestering the posting population in general.

Happy New Year everyone, even though its only Christmas Eve here.

Ooo... As usual I always break them but I suppose I'll come up with a few just incase there's a slight chance they do happen

    - to be more sociable and not worry what other people think
    - to join the local gay support/social group
    - to be more healthy in my food/drink choices
    - make friends/maybe find a boyfriend
    - write more

    Oh no...

    The list is endless

Well I was very successful with my last resolution losing 100 pounds and becoming really healthy

I would say now I need to tackle:
    -learning to be happy
    -get over being lonely
-keep taking advantage of amazing opportunities I'm given at school and in my internship

    That's rather impressive :eusa_clap

That's mine for this year. I don't have friends and while I prefer my own company, I do long for somebody to have a giggle with away from a computer.

  17. 1.) Further accept myself for my sexuality.
2.) Tell my mom (not my step-dad... ever.)

I really want to focus on getting healthy this year. Eating healthier and doing regular exercise. I've found it difficult in the past to keep it up for more than a few weeks so I'm really going to make an effort to make a permanent change.
