1. Biggest change this year is that I came out to my best friend and feel fucking awesome about it

3. Didn't have any but this new year will change that, met a guy that might be gay that I plan on seeing this Friday

Work like a bitch for my finals and sort my life out. I hope i will be a lot clearer on what i want and i just hope everything thats so f*cked up right now will work out.

Its been a very volatile year. Some really good times but some really shit times; too many shit times which have been most recent, so probably been the worst year.

Becoming ill with CFS/ME.

Unexpectedly, I got a boyfriend in October. We're going along just fine.

The US election; it's the first time I've taken an interest in politics.

My resolution was to not self-harm. Have I kept it? Hell yeah.

Being able to help others more.

My mother. She fights so many battles with school to get me an education while I'm ill.

10. Did you have to learn any hard life lessons in the past 12 months?
I've learned about not doing too much. This is partly physical, since I'm unable to now that I'm unwell, and partly emotional; since I'm supporting others now, I have to not completely spend myself emotionally.

11. Have you had any life-changing experiences in 2012?
It's been a pretty eventful year, what with Soul Survivor, falling ill, getting a boyfriend, repairing my relationship with Mom, getting known on TV Tropes, and so on. Yes, I know that last one was a change in tone!

12. Did you do anything you never thought you would do?
Hm, possibly several. One is that I'm in a relationship and not yet 16, which I didn't intend, say, three years ago.

13. Did you gain any new qualifications?
A Science GCSE (now I'm doing the Additional Science course) at an A, and the RYA YSS Level 2, a sailing certificate.

14. What is your happiest memory from the year?
My time at Soul Survivor, praying with others and being prayed for by them.

15. What was your most stupid incident (drunk stories would be good!)?
Haven't got drunk yet, sorry! Having an English lesson in my pyjamas when everyone at my main school was in uniform wasn't particularly, as strange as that may seem.

16. What things do you appreciate most in your life at the moment?
My walking. My boyfriend. My mother. My music.

17. What are/were your plans for xmas/ new year?
A quiet Christmas and New Year at home, but heading to my grandparents' on Boxing Day to meet up with my brother and indulge in excellent cooking; sadly, my stepsisters aren't in the country this year.

I haven't thought of any to make yet. This year has been pretty good -- much better than being 14.

Last year was a 7 or 6, perhaps. This is more of an 8 or 9 despite illness, which is awesome.

Realizing I was queer was probably the single biggest change, especially since it set off a chain reaction of other changes.

2. What did you do over the summer?
Mostly moped around my dad's house trying to recover from the events of the first half of the year.

I didn't have any relationships, though my one major crush ended about as badly as possible. At least now I'm talking to someone online. Hopefully that will go well.

Sandy Hook, obviously, but that's mostly because it was so recent. The presidential election didn't register that much with me.

It's hard to choose. I would say either "Pleaides" by Julia Kent or the orchestral version of "Connect" from Madoka Magica.

I didn't make any resolutions.

Getting a 3.5 in Analysis. Seriously, that class was hard!

I would have to say my dad for letting me stay with him in spite of having his issues to deal with.

Yes. Many, in fact -- too many to list.

The whole year was one big life-changing experience. Realizing I was queer, getting my heart smashed to pieces, having my mom kick me out of the house, developing depression...

12. Did you do anything you never thought you would do?
I signed up for a dating website.

Not really, but my programming keeps improving. I've started to learn Java and C++. This will help me get a job once I'm out of school.

14. What is your happiest memory from the year?
Discovering Puella Magi Madoka Magica. It's such a sad show, but it's the best thing to happen to me all year.

...going along with some people to draw a Pentagram in front of the library because the girl I liked was one of them probably wins this category. I spent the next week worrying about whether I would get in trouble for it. I would have worried longer if it hadn't been for the fact that the girl ended our friendship the following weekend.

16. What things do you appreciate most in your life at the moment?
I appreciate having a place to stay for the break. At the beginning of the semester I was afraid I wouldn't have one.

17. What are/were your plans for xmas/ new year?
Nothing, really, except hang out with my dad and maybe play some Skyrim.

I'm not making any this year other than to continue with my self-care routine that I've been developing.

I gave it a two in the poll, but in reality it's more complicated than that. While the year was that bad, I'm glad it happened. I'm no longer the person I was this time last year. I've learned some important things about myself and about life.

2. What did you do over the summer? I went to a few music festivals with friends, worked, hung out w/ friends in general. It was a good summer.

4. What news story sticks in your mind the most from 2012? International news? Obama's re-election. National? The Dutch prince Friso going into a coma because of a skiing accident. It happened while I was on a skiing trip myself, that's why it stuck with me.

14. What is your happiest memory from the year? I have a lot. All friends I came out to were accepting. I've had a great summer with festivals and friends, a great skiing trip with family.

15. What was your most stupid incident (drunk stories would be good!)? I almost crashed my car into another one because I wasn't paying enough attention... was a good lesson. Probably not the most stupid thing I did but I can't recall another one haha.

1. The biggest change in your life this year?

The biggest change in my life this year was definitely my internship. I had to cut people out of my life because of their...extracurricular activities. And I had to say goodbye to my party monster days. I grew up really quickly and took on A LOT of responsibility all at once because of it. But I have no regrets at all.

2. What did you do over the summer?

I worked two internships. The one I've been working all year, and then I worked in my hometown's Clerk of Courts office which was absolutely horrific. I worked for a real life Miranda Priestly.

3. How were relationships with boyfriends/girlfriends?

I didn't date at all this year until about October. My "ex" got back into my life briefly at the beginning of this semester, we fell out of touch again. I met a football dude and a cop, both of whom I felt a lot for, and it's presumably mutual...but we'll see how it works out with them. The story is still on-going. ^_^

4. What news story sticks in your mind the most from 2012?

The Dark Knight shootings in Aurora.

I don't know, I have too many.

Too many, maybe Macklemore.

7. Did you make any new years resolutions and if so, did you stick to them?

Yes, I wanted to run more often, go farther, just be generally fitter and healthier and I did that and more. That's my goal for next year too.

8. What are you most proud of personally this year (i.e.- something you have done)?

Accidentally catching a woman who was smuggling drugs. None of the probation officers I was interning with suspected anything. It was totally, 100%, my catch. And, I'm also pretty proud that I passed statistics.

The people that I've been tutoring. They all passed their classes this year. And, more importantly, I'm pretty proud of my mom. She was diagnosed with breast cancer at the beginning of this semester, in September, and she's been really strong throughout this whole ordeal. I love that we can laugh about it and talk about it and not let it change things.

10. Did you have to learn any hard life lessons in the past 12 months?

You can't save everybody, and not everyone wants to be saved.

11. Have you had any life-changing experiences in 2012?

Oh, a ton. Way too many to list here. 2012 was cray.

12. Did you do anything you never thought you would do?

I crawled through a crack den's attic looking for a hidden drug stash because I was the only one on the scene small enough to get in it, none of the officers could fit in it. Never thought I'd ever be looking for heroin.

13. Did you gain any new qualifications?

Not really "qualifications." I got a lot of job experience under my belt this year though.

14. What is your happiest memory from the year?

Laying in a hammock in my best friend's back yard with her on my 21st birthday, both of us dying from our food babies and totally wasted on margaritas, just laughing together and looking at the stars. ^_^

15. What was your most stupid incident (drunk stories would be good!)?

Hmm...probably the time my friends and I had a field party this summer. I lost my ID at my sister's apartment the week before I went to this party. The police showed up at the field and almost took me back to the police station for underage consumption even though I'm really over 21. They didn't believe me because I'm so babyfaced. I managed to talk my way out of that one. My parents would have been pissed if they had to come down to the police station at 4:00 in the morning just to confirm what I'd already said.

16. What things do you appreciate most in your life at the moment?

My friends and my family, definitely. I'm so glad I get more time to spend with them. My puppy of the last 10.5 years went downhill fast and it depresses me that I didn't get more time to spend with her. I feel like I wasted so many opportunities to make memories.

17. What are/were your plans for xmas/ new year?

Just the usual. See family. Hang out with friends. Relax between semesters.

18. Are you making any new years resolutions for 2013? What do you hope will be different?

I hope I can genuinely fall in love next year. Other than that...I'm as happy as I can be I suppose.

My trip to New York City with a close friend in August was fun, honestly I didn't do much this year and nothing really stand out. Sad, I know.

Getting far too drunk at a Halloween party, when i know I can't handle my alcohol.

My friends and family, going to college, getting lost in movies.

Christmas I stayed home with my parents and sister and for New Years I'm probably going to be spending it with a close friend. I loathe New Years though, I always have the worst time.

I came completely out the closet and accepted myself and got the most amazing girlfriend in the process. unfortunately it meant losing my job

I tried my best to spend as many days as I could out in the sun enjoying life. really it was the best summer ever!

My little sister for being the stubbornly strong independent woman she's become.

Yes I met the most beautiful woman.

Either having started to attend my LGBT group or seeing a therapist.

Suppose my mother comes to mind. Particularly this year because despite having various personal concerns of her own, she's still managed to provide some degree of support.

How important it is to have, or at least work towards finding, people you can open up to.

Though it started last Autumn, I'd basically say working towards accepting the fact I like guys.

I decided to leave religion for good.
2. What did you do over the summer?
I moved an elementary school library. I recovered from a car wreck. I also had to help clean-up after the major storms hit central Ohio.

4. What news story sticks in your mind the most from 2012?
The amount of mass shootings that happened this year. The one that pops into my mind first is Chardon. It's 15 min from where I go to college at.

I made a resolution to be out to almost everybody. I'm actually surprised that I kept that one..

It's a tie between being almost completely out and making the dean's list for the first time.

I am most proud of my parents. They stuck beside me and helped defend me while I was coming out. They also had to deal with many of the same issues that I had to deal with too.
10. Did you have to learn any hard life lessons in the past 12 months?
I learned that working really hard pays off in the end. I thought that I was going to fail this semester, but I ended up making the deans list.
11. Have you had any life-changing experiences in 2012?
The car wreck taught me that life can change in an instant. I also learned that from the storms that hit central ohio. Both of these events taught me to live my life the way I want to, because there might not be a tomorrow.
12. Did you do anything you never thought you would do?
I came out to my former youth director/second cousin. I also came out to most of my extended family. I also left religion for good. I never thought that I would do that.
13. Did you gain any new qualifications?
I became a cameraperson for the university football team. I also learned how to be a technical director.

Becoming a mod here!
15. What was your most stupid incident (drunk stories would be good!)?
My friends had to drag me to the clinic because I had phenomena. I had refused to go to because I just thought that I had the flu. I almost ended up in the hospital.
16. What things do you appreciate most in your life at the moment?
My parents, my cat and dog and my friends.
17. What are/were your plans for xmas/ new year?
Hang out at home with family and friends. I don't really do anything special. We are having a family party on Thursday that celebrates Christmas and New Year's.

A 2. This year sucked. Between car wrecks and severe weather, this was not a good year. I also had one of my depressive episodes in the middle of the year.
