The pug has started waking up from 430 to 530 and peeing. On stuff. Namely the laundry basket. With clothes in it. :bang::***::eusa_doh::tantrum::***::***::***: Seeing that HE would sleep through a nuclear blast, I wake up. And clean it up. And have to get up for work at 6. :bang::***::***::badgrin::help::eusa_doh::tears::tantrum: That is all.
Couldn't you just leave it until you get back from work? Since you won't wash it the next morning anyway since you have work at 6
Wouldn't recommend leaving it - it's gonna stink. As for punishment, that ain't going to work since the dog won't know what it's done wrong unless you are able to catch it in the act. ---------- Post added 7th Jan 2013 at 04:29 PM ---------- Wouldn't recommend leaving it - it's gonna stink. ^ cause that'll do a lot of good..... dogs wont go pee where they sleep, start putting her in a cage at night.
I agree with this, only punish if you catch it in the act and it will start to pick up that it shouldn't be doing that
I can't leave it. And I do throw clothes in washer that early. He has been fine, never done this. But it's happened 4 times in the past 2/3 weeks.
Has anything changed lately? Dogs sometimes react to changes in the environment. Also, my pug did something like this one time and it turned out she had a bladder infection.
As other have said, don't leave it..deal with it. Is your dog normally ok for asking to go out for peeing?if so, why is s/he not coin it now? Might be an infection as suggested.
could be worse, he coulda rubbed it on your leg. ---------- Post added 8th Jan 2013 at 03:37 PM ---------- I hope you don't do that to pets or kids. Shouting is not helpful. Firm speaking orders is correct.
I would suggest putting him in a cage at night, but that's been suggested. I'd also recommend taking him to the vet in case there's an easy solution there. I do have a question though...do you live someplace that's been getting heavy snow lately? Or other unusually bad weather? We once had an impressive snow/ice storm and our greyhound (now gone) wound up refusing to go outside unless we cleared off a patch of ground. So if you've got bad weather that could be it. Also, have you just gotten a new pet, or introduced anything else new that might make your dog decide to mark his territory? Our cats have sometimes done that to each other (on my parents bed!).
I've never had a dog, but my cat has been doing this recently. She would pee on the piles of laundry we left out when the laundry machine was full. The only way we could get her to stop was to stick her nose in her own urine and shout "NO!". After doing that twice, she never peed on the laundry again. What's nice about this idea is that you don't necessarily have to catch the dog in the act to discipline it.
