Alrighty, I am very confused about something. Well I just got done watching this documentary on people in the adult film industry. Well one of the guys worked as a gay porn star and was in numerous of films. But through out the whole thing he claimed that he is straight. To be honest I don’t believe him one bit, but he seems uber confident. Even though when he sees his co - stars out side of the shoots. He hugs them and kisses them on the cheek. Do any of you think that a person that has sex with the same sex almost everyday and gets off on it. Are they gay or is it just job? (as he puts it)

Well, those types of porn stars are usually referred to as "trade" or "gay-for-pay," but it's not an unheared of phenomenon. Do I believe they're straight? I tend to doubt it. However, people do lots of weird stuff for money (such as reality television), and sex is just something else on the list. You could ask a prostitute if she likes her Johns. She'll probably say no but do them anyway. Porn stars are like legal prostitutes. They're paid to act out fantasies. I'm sure plenty of them don't like their on-screen partners, so it's always a possibility that they're actually somewhat straight.

Anyways, I could believe that he's straight. It's quite possible to have sex without a real attraction.

In addition for the "gay for pay" sex workers, it may also have to do with the word "gay". There are many men out there that are MSM (men who have sex with men), but do not consider themselves "gay", because of the perceived stigma of the label.

And they probably get paid more to do gay porn, I dunno. There would have to be a reason. (as Rette said its easier to get into gay porn so he was just looking for a job to get some cash)

Porn doesn't really pay, so people have to work with whatever they can, male or female. Since there's half as many guys in straight porn, it's easier just to work in gay.
