    I looked to see if this was a thread already, but I couldn't find one.

    Is there a song that when you hear it, no matter what mood you are in, you are suddenly happy? For me, it's Don't Stop Me Now by Queen. No idea why, but whenever I hear it, I just laugh and feel better.

    I can't say it always makes me happy, but one song always makes me feel better.

    Given To Fly, by Pearl Jam. Hence my username.

    Some people see it as being about a Christ-like figure. Personally I see it as a story of rebirth, and overcoming adversity. I'd always liked the song, but the first time I really listened to it, and understood the message was when I saw the band play in Amsterdam, in late June 2012. At that point I was just coming to terms with the shit that had gone on in my past, and letting it go. I'd been to Switzerland the week before, and suffered some kind of mental breakdown. Thanks to a really good friend I managed to get my shit together, but things could have gone drastically different... It was also about then that I started to accept that I was gay. This song (and several others) really helped me with that process, and I think it will always be special to me.

    me and her actually have the same birthday. its weird...but that song has gotten me through a lot and i wish i could thank her and whoever wrote that song for that
