Am I The Only One Who Thinks Gangnam Style is Overrated?

As a kpop lover, there are OTHER kpops.
I feel like GS is the first KPOP a lot of people are exposed to, too...

 

I second you. Even k-pop in general is overrated in my place... I'm not against it, but I'm tired listening to it everytime I turned on the tv...

 

have you tried listening to Younha? she's like sidestream kpop lol. and some krock and jpop

 

Oh, that's actually one that I liked. I know her before k-pop's booming. Maybe I'm biased since I disliked most k-pop, but Younha's awesome.

 

personally I think BoA's also awesome I mean, first one to US?! LOL

 

I am totally down with the song and the video, I just think it's incredibly humorous that this might be the most popular song in the world right now and maybe 5% of the people who know the song know the lyrics or what they mean. He may as well be singing gibberish (he kind of is from our perspective)

yep. Pretty much sums up my feelings towards it.

 

I may the only person in the world to have not seen the video. I've heard a few seconds of the song though, and I don't get what the fuss is about...

 

I have neither seen the video nor heard the song.

 

I've never paid much attention but my gf liked her I think... pretty cool.

 

I'm not a huge fan of the song itself but I do like how it's spawned hundreds of parodies :lol:

 

I think the song is quite catchy, but not my cup of tea. The dance, however, annoys me to no end.

 

Obviously I have been living under a rock as I have yet to hear the song, view the video or even realise that people were enjoying it as much as they have been.

No, I hate that song and have never liked it at all. I think it is so stupid. 98% of the people that like it don't even know what the hell he is saying. :soapbox:

 

I am a huge K-pop fan, and I listened to this song way before it became popular in America. It was okay, but it eventually got on my nerves. There are much better songs to listen to in my opinion. And Gangnam Style isn't the poster child for how most K-pop songs sound.

 

Gangnam Style is only overrated because it's different. We don't really have pop stars like Psy in the states, and he does have a very deep, sonorous voice that just makes for a nice rap... thing.

I like GS, but on a superficial level like most pop.

her dancing in her music takes more skills than like, most kpop groups nowadays, you should check her out
