That is one of those smells that is easy to distinguish, but just impossible to describe! I think the smell of rain is actually what everything outside smells like but the rain heightens our sense of smell, I think. If I remember correctly.

 

-smell of fresh citrus fruit being peeled

-smell of air after a rainfall

-smell of cinnamon

-smell of a forest

 

-Vanilla
-Strawberries
-Cologne
-The smell of the ocean.

Rain, vanilla, oranges, and the way a chocolate cake smells in the oven.

 

How are we all forgetting the blankets that just came out of the dryer?

 

Some of my favorite smells would have to be...
- Rain or the smell that comes with water (like it's taste, you really can't explain it)
-The forest
- A new book
-Some types of citrus
-Freshly baked cookies
-Oddly enough I'm not a big fan of perfume or cologne; I'm always afraid I'm allergic to it, anyways
-And this may also be odd but I really like the smell of cork grease (you use it for clarinets)

 

Wow... that takes me back to my days back in band. I loved that clarinet. And that cork grease kinda smelled minty

 

The smell of something salty on their lips. Tequila and wine smells great to me.

 

I don't really know how to describe the smell but i love the smell of apartment buildings, not when they're dingy and gross, but there's a smell when you walk in, if someone knows what I'm talking about please tell me

 

Smell of vanilla
Smell of fresh rainfall
Smell of a clothes dryer when its on
Smell of sexy perfume

 

The smell of snow
Any type of forest
And floral, earthy perfume
And the smell of anything old... books, newspapers, old empty rooms

balsam fir, old books, my partner's shower gel, peppermint, and that smell just after a rain

 

Here's mine....

• Freshly shampooed hair
• campfire
• golden/yellow cake freshly baked
• fresh brewed coffee

 

This for sure, also freshly baked bread, incense, rain, (like most everyone else here so far), certain kinds of cologne, and this specific sweet-ish smell my best friend has that I never know how to describe. I'm sure there's others I'm not thinking of atm 2.

I always wondered if Hermione's potion was just a combination of random smells Rowling herself loves? Or if she made them up right then just for that character.
