I just watched President Obama's inaugural speech and truly appreciate his stance on Gay rights.

Our journey is not complete until our gay brothers and sisters are treated like anyone else under the law – for if we are truly created equal, then surely the love we commit to one another must be equal as well.*

I don't know what his authority can do for us, but I hope that it's something. I doubt he can just legalize gay marriage but hopefully he can take it in the right direction somehow. n_n

I generally hate Obama, but he is truly groundbreaking in his opinion of LGBT. I hope every politician soon follows suit.

Supported him as my senator, voted for him as my president twice and I couldn't be more happy. After this next term, Obama will hopefully keep pushing for the progressive agenda. If he does, I think we will look at him as one of the better presidents we have ever had. He understands that the middle and lower class is the back bone of this country

Thank you president Obama for your support and service!

I do disagree with his stance on gun control. But without turning this into a debate he seems like a nice guy who will support the lgbt community.

Makes three of us. I see him as money snatching socialist.

But to be honest, both him and Mitt Romney suck. This past election consisted of weak candidates.

as opposed to romney, who was a money-snatching/laundering facist plutocrat?

if your going to attack a politician for snatching money, you have to attack them all; its what makes them politicians, regardless of affiliation.

the only difference between the two parties is that republicans subsidise the rich, and democrats subsidise the american citizen.

^^You know I was all ready to argue, but you said exactly what I was going to. It's not one guy or another; it's ALL of them. But we can celebrate this little victory at least hehe.

This is a victory in a way. We have support in a high place. His other policies touch us but nearly as much as this one. Hugs Mr. President.

I agree. I tend to favor placing lots of emphasis on the economy, but is it nice to hear inspiring words. Action is another matter to be discussed.

Sorry but I can't help but to feel lately a lot of people refer to the rich like they are lower than humans. The rich are humans too and I shouldn't even have to be saying this, let's not hate or discriminate the rich like another minority. I mean being on this site, we should at least know that. How would you feel if you were taxed more just because you were LGBt? Also, you can't say Republicans subsidize the rich, the rich are already taxed at a higher rate. What do you want to do? Tax them until they metamophasize into middle-class? That's just unAmerican. Rich Americans are still Anerican citizens and the most productive at that, in terms of gross domestic product per person.

As I understand US tax policy, the wealthy are taxed heavily on whatever they make above $400,000. I support the higher taxes on the rich because it's really the least they can do to repay the society that helped make them tremendously rich. It really wouldn't be fair to the rest of society, in my opinion, to be taxed at the same rate as people who can afford to pay much more in taxes and then some, when so many people are struggling to get by.

Also, to stay on topic: gg prez Obama.
