All these youth boy bands like 1D are so overrated and phony. All they do is bounce on the stage, put one hand between their legs and start caterwauling like cats on heat and make the girls squeal. If 1D were a band of ugly old men with better voices than the original, they'd be literally unheard of.
Their pseudo-relationship is called "fan service"- if horny teenage girls and boys like to watch them act out homoerotic scenes, why the hell should they not? Especially with the torrents of OTP pairings, slash fiction and doujinshi cartoons etc. I'm actually kinda surprised it took so long for them to start doing these stuff.
I watched the X Factor (where they came from) the season they were on it. Their relationship was not fake at all at first, but all those pictures and photo sets that the OP posted are from 2 years ago...they don't act like that anymore because of their management. Their fans are like the friggin illuminati, coming up with all these conspiracy theories and what not. I don't think they're gay, I just think they're Europeans and are really good friends.
