    My First Race

I have really been training for my first race, and its on March 15th. I am pretty excited. Right now I am running at about a 7 minute pace or so, but its hard to gage exactly. I run on the track at a local gym.

My mentor told me that your first race is hard to place, and do not expect to, because you are nervous and its new to you, plus other factors play in as well, like looking at last years results. YIKES! But he said in upcoming races, he doesn't think I will have a problem placing.

Although, I was a litle discouraged when he told me this. He has also coached me some on running in general, and he has given me excellent advice and has been right so far in pretty much everything he has said.

Anyway, I hope you will all ROOT me on(especially Louise . And I will be sure to let you know how I do

Good luck! On June 7&8th I'm doing a walk for people with depression and who are suicidal. Also I think in April or March their is the March of Dimes for unborn babies. Do you have any tips on how not to be sore? Lol because I hate the feeling after you workout for a while your body is sooooo sore.

OO I know how you feel! Yesterday I ran my first meet of the season in track (distance) and I ran 5:49 for the mile and I ran a 65 second lap for the 4x4. I've been training for about a month but I ran track last year. Good luck on your first race!
