Jefferson's already got the nickel, though. 20's are more widely used, but if it ain't broke, I say. Jackson is a polarizing historical figure, rather than universally loved, but he was influential in his time.

He was very much against allowing the greedy bankers to run the economy, which is why he wasn't so popular among those who wanted centralized banking. He was also known to do what was called a "Pocket Veto" meaning he would veto legislation but never return it to congress, Instead he would keep it in his "pocket" and never talked about it. (It was his way to prevent a 2/3 override). Jackson was so concerned about the bankers getting control of the money, he warned the USA about that and said that would be our demise.
From the looks of things today, He must be spinning in his grave.

Washington is on both the quarter and one-dollar bill. Jefferson was a greater man than Washington. Washington sucked ass as both a general and a political thinker.

Given the number of Americans that actually know the presidents portrayed on each paper bill and coin, I can't imagine there would be a huge effect on the way either of them are perceived.

Also, this endeavor would require a huge amount of resources, especially if you're asking for the Jackson bills to be take out of circulation. Once people catch wind of currency changes, they hoard bills and coins that they hope will increase in value. I don't know the extent to which this affects the money supply, but I don't think the costs are worth the benefits.
