So, I was looking around facebook and I see a outraged post about Beyonce and her choice of clothing at the half-time show (the comment was by a super-religious friend of mine.) All of the sudden, I see: "A way we all react to things against our God is anger. It's a holy anger, and it's righteous." WTF?! I'm honestly scared right now... and questioning my friend's sanity. wow.
Ummm... righteous anger is like the anger you experience when a child is abused or a friend was murdered or molested... not wardrobe?
I would question that as well. Hopefully they arent the type of person who uses god as a way to justify their actions
it's probably a quote or something she saw somewhere. Sounds non specific. ln those situations, it doesn't even matter what you say. lt's all about inciting a "fuck yeah, us vs. them" thing. *insert random emotion here, react accordingly, receive validation from people who feel similarly and really don't care about what you're saying as long as you agree with them*
Yeah, I saw a couple of posts from ultra-religious people on my fb friends list about the halftime show as well. I've seen that exact quote as well. Many people have used it against me. I've just learned to ignore it. The people that have used that quote usually end up being blocked from my fb.
"righteous anger" is what spurred on the crusaders to kill thousands in the name of Jesus, the burning of the Strasbourg Jews for a reason I forgot (relating to "every other group hates Jews I guess), the execution of Christians in the Roman colosseum, the deaths of 3,000 people on 9/11, etc. Religions of peace should react with as much love to unrepentant sinners as they do to those who are "saved."
Oh well at least there wasn't a "wardrobe malfunction" exposing Janet Jackson's nipple for a split-second like there was a few years ago. Millions of innocent Christian children were permanently scarred by that abomination and many of them turned to the sinful homosexual lifestyle as a result.
Wow... That's pretty ridiculous. I was driving home yesterday and passed by a church sign that said, "God Cheers For Super Souls, Not Super Bowls". Now, I'm not saying I'm not religious, because I actually kinda am in a sense. I don't go to church, but I do pray and believe in God. But come on... That sign is taking it too far. It makes it seem like God frowns upon those who enjoy the Super Bowl and related activities.
I agree with a former poster. You can have righteous anger, but that`s if your child is hurt or molested, or if someone burns your house down. Or if there`s injustice or crimes against humanity. Why she`d write that in a comment on an artists clothes, lol. Maybe her definition of crimes against humanity is a bit broader than usual
