Your question is a bit ambiguous. I'm not sure if you're asking why we're born as sexual minorities, or why we're born as it relates to "the grand scheme of things".

My answer to both is nevertheless the same: no particular reason.

As for why do gay people exist, there are a lot of theories, but nobody's really explained it.

As for why people exist in general, well, I don't really care much to think about that. I'm no biologist/evolutionist/anthropologist/whatever-ist, so I just like to revel in the fact that we exist.

Why were we born is gonna be one of those tricky questions unless "my parents birth control failed" counts :lol: But seriously I feel like I've found my purpose. I think this is one of those questions where you've gotta figure out where you're starting. Like if you're a Christian then you're really asking why you're here in terms of God's plan. Or some people might ask how they fit into nature and the world around them. There's some fun ideas like Gaea where the Earth is a living thing. And a lot of us like to say that we don't have any purpose at all and so whatever we decide to do is why we're here, or like you make your own purpose. A lot of atheists like that last one.

You got me started on philosophy crap The man is hit and miss with me. I like some of his books and not others. But if you read a Kurt Vonnegut book called "The Sirens of Titan" I think he says it really well. Spoilers, but the book's about a space alien who basically created human society so that we all could make a spaceship part he needed to get back home. I think thinking about that is a good place to start if you're asking what your purpose in life is and you just need like a fresh point of view.

I think the reason for life is different for everyone, I think as long as you find the truth within yourself you're good to go, because that usually is the paving ground to the things you enjoy doing.

So the reason why I was born? to experience life, and to live it happy, god knows this forum is full of depressed individuals and happiness is by far waaaaaaay better.

 

Basically.

We were born because if we weren't born, we wouldn't exist, and then we wouldn't be giving birth. Circular logic, I know, but what can you do.

Things that don't give birth don't have parents to give birth to them, because their parents weren't born either.

The reason why we are in the first group and not the second is because of a simple 'accident' way back in the reaches of time.
