I talked to an old school counsoler I had today and her name is Susan.She told me that she is a lesbian when I got to know her when I was 14 about to turn 15.I came to her when I was 18 before coming out as a lesbian for advice and she told me this: Be yourself and don't be nervous.I look up to her to this day for helping me coming out.I did tell her the news that my girlfriend and I are going through a domestic partnership ceramony in the spring.She did tell me congradulations and I am going to invite her to the ceramony.

That's pretty awesome. I'm sure that if I'd tried to come out to my counselor in High School she probably would have flipped out (and not in a good way). Of course, I went to High School in the deep south so that might be why.

Hopefully she gets to come to your commitment ceremony.

She is going to and her partner Patti of 8 years whom I know too and I told them.I help her out to this day too,she has a group of girls,13 to 18 years old and I do come to speak out and talk to them that they can do anything.We have a great relationship too knowing I was not alone coming out.
