There is currently a lot of talk on Uk media about Bruce Willis and the latest 'Die Hard' film.
Well I watched 'Die Hard 1-4' and thought that progressively they got 'worse' and ''boring'.
    What do others think?

I loved Die Hard and liked Die Hard with a Vengeance. Die Hards 2 & 4 are guilty pleasures. The 5th one doesn't look too good.

After Die Hard 1 they all were rubbish IMHO, 3 was watchable though.

I've only seen parts of each film, they've never really appealed to me. I got halfway through the first one and fell asleep after i had a good chuckle at Alan Rickmans hilarious German accent. But it was Christmas day and i was full of food and alcohol, so maybe if i tried watching it any other day i might get all the way through.

The first Die Hard was like a work of art. The plot was perfectly structured. Bruce Willis was just a normal cop, who got caught in a bad situation and had to make the best of it. Come Die Hard 4 suddenly he was a god of death, flying motorcycles into helicopters, singlehandedly mowing through an entire enemy base :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Well I'm glad that everyone agrees on this, I think it is the general rule that squeals will be worse than the original. The plot was better in the first movie, Alan Rickman makes a perfects villain. He is the only person I have ever seen that doesn't let his lips touch his teeth when he talks though.

I'll end up seeing the new movie anyway, why not

got worse. The story lines got more far-fetched.

    Exceptions:

    The Dark Knight
    The Godfather Part II
    The Empire Strikes Back
    Shrek 2
Aliens (okay, I liked Alien slightly more, but Aliens could definitely be debated as being as good or better than Alien)
    Terminator 2
    Mad Max 2

General rule, not certain. And I have to disagree with you about the Empire Strikes Back

The first three star wars films were good, but I thought ESB was the best of the three.

The Die Hard series has always been a silly popcorn-flick series and most of them have delivered that. My least favorite is Die Hard 4, though. PG-13 bullshit. Hopefully the next one is more fun because it is R.

Yes they are good, but I always enjoyed A New Hope more than the rest.

Oh, another one to add to the list would be Austin Powers the Spy who Shagged me, actually both sequels were better than the first.

He`s on my boicott list with other people who I boicott for various reasons, his loudly outspoken support for the various wars that has been started over the last decade is pretty much the reason

Well, the critics hate the new Die Hard. I didn't notice the director was the same one that directed Die Hard. What a sad reality.

Well, we'll never see another Die Hard film for a while, if ever.

Die Hard's alright to me. Not phenomenal but I'll watch it if it's own. Same goes for Die Hard with a Vengeance. I think the only film that I have seen with Bruce Willis that I LOVE is Looper.
