I just started shooting a year ago, and already I've improved a lot and have gotten my own bow. My uncles are trying to get me into bow hunting, too, but right now I mostly do competitions with my school team. My main point is, I want to see how many archers are out there. Is there some on EC?

I'm wondering because I love sharing common interests with people :rolle:

Hooray for archers! Arching is the one of the only sports I'm not completely awful at. My uncle taught me the art of archery a while back, but I haven't practiced for a while. Hopefully, I'm still okay.

What kind of bow do you shoot with?

And I see your point of archery being the only sport you aren't completely awful at; I'm pretty much horrendous at other sports (the exception being basketball and football, but it's not like I'm good enough to get on any teams) and archery is sort of the safe haven for me

I actually was an archery instructor at a summer camp I worked at when I was in college. I was never that good (took the course, and could teach to kids...but that's about it), but it was SO fun! I miss it, actually.

I used to really love archery. I was obsessed with Legolas from LOTR when I was a kid, so my parents bought me an archery set, and I went to town with it. Later on, when my neighbor was moving, he gave me his longbow. That was a lot of fun.

Up until this summer, I hadn't shot in years, but while I was home from uni I found my bow and arrows, and it was fun to have a go at it after so long.

  8. SupremeEmperor is a great fan of ancient combat. SupremeEmperor does not possess the motor skills to actually participate. SupremeEmperor remains interested nonetheless.

  9. I love any type of combat sports, so I really want to get into archery (and fencing), but so far I've never tried.

I'm deeply fascinated with medieval warfare, so naturally archery is on the list. My best friend in elementary/middle school got me into archery when we shot his recurve. I was actually a better shot than he was XD.

Now I've got an old compound at ~35lb. draw. I've had it for years so it doesn't really fit me anymore, but it's still fun as hell to shoot. I pull it out every so often.

I have a range setup in my back yard, I shoot a Bowtech Assassin. Am I now a new member of the EC archery team? I bet they never heard us coming.

My uncle actually carved my bow himself. It's looks a bit like a recurve bow, but less ornate.

Done it a few times, enjoy it. Not really any good at it, but that's only due to a lack of practise.

I'd like to take it up, but other similar sports are taking up most of my time. Shooting (full bore F/TR Rifle and ISPC pistol).

They'd still follow a parabolic arc with no air resistance (gravity only), but I thought it was a pretty good joke.

Nope, but I'd love to try! I'm kind of obsessed with older combat arts.
