It depends, if I'm having a
    good day comedy, if not
horror; or if it's night. ×~×

I sometimes need cheering up, and a good comedy movie always does the trick. But I do like the occasional thriller (nothing too gory).

    Evil Dead 2.

    Perfect combination of both.

Either one or the other, depending on how I feel.

Most horror films are terrible, though. Difficult to find anything that actually scares me, or isn't all blood and gore. Japanese psychological thrillers do pretty good, though. And horror mangas (Junji Ito, Hideshi Hino).

Most comedies make me laugh, so I enjoy them from time to time.

I like both too, and the hybrid ones (I agree with Evil Dead 1 & 2/Army of Darkness). I also love Cabin in the Woods and Drag Me to Hell.

I like both. Though I've been watching a lot of horror movies lately.

The Shining and The Thing are good horror films. Very little jump scares, which is a horror cliche I absolutely loathe, but an eerie atmosphere.

Comedy! I love laughing. Also, I can not do horror. I'm a huge wuss/baby and am scarred at the slightest thing that jumps out at me!

Both have their place. I tend to dislike most 'horror' movies because they tend to be stupid and not exactly scary, however I do enjoy films the lot of you would claim disgusting and disturbing. For instance, I consider Salò, or the 120 Days of Sodom a masterpiece.

Already seen The Shining multiple times, one of my favourite horrors actually.

Yeah, jump scares are a cheap tactic.

It depends on my day and who I'm with. I prefer comedy though.

I remember the Cinema Snob's take on that film. It really looks disgusting.

I think A Clockwork Orange puts the disturbing material to better use, like the rape scene while Alex is singing Singing in the Rain.
