Gay sites

Hey,

There are plenty of gay forums out there and it doesn't take much imagination when using a search engine to find them, but you'll find that they will operate differently to EC. Unfortunately many forums have very little understanding of the need to safeguard their younger members from online predators and will instead make (at best) half-assed attempts to do so. As a result, you'll find that your average 'gay-themed' forum will have a worrying percentage of people who are using it for a hook-up, and when you add that component to the lack of security that these sites have then you start unravelling what could potentially become a very worrying situation.

Unfortunately it is in the best interests of everybody if I lock this thread before a discussion is able to ensue. What members do outside of EC is there own prerogative, but it would be irresponsible of us to allow members to obtain information directly on EC that they could use to access less secure sites that lack the appropriate safeguards that should be in place for their age group.
