Default GLBT film?

I'm curious, guys...

What are your favorite GLBT films? :]

Personally, one of my favorite movies out of any is Ma Vie en Rose. (My life in pink)
It's a French film that features a seven year old boy who's actual gender identity is female. It shows everything Ludo and his family goes through.

It gets me every time. It was the first thing to open my eyes about transgendered people. Before that, I didn't understand much about it at all, or how much they go through. I think it's especially amazing because this film came out way back in 1997 and got a Golden Globe for best foreign film.

It was actually on LOGO today at 3 pm

And to name a few others- But I'm a Cheerleader, Saving Face, Brokeback Mountain... All good :]

Anybody care to share?

We watched that movie last week in French!
Ludovic really looks like a girl (and then his mom became a bitch and cut his hair)

I don't know if they're GLBT movie, but it DOES feature gay people:
Sommersturm (German movie, the guys are hot, too!)
Get Real (I really liked this)

Sommersturm is one of my all time favorites.

Pretty much Dexter could be seen as symbolism for being in the closet.

I mean we both sorta deal with the same ideas do we not?

Another great Tranny one is "Different for Girls". It's a British film and a great love story. I love the fact that they have a man playing the Transsexual woman; he makes a great she and really sells the reality.

An old Gay themed film I loved is "Boys in the Band" based on a play.

"My Beautiful Laundrette" A great one...also British.

In the past few months I've seen Latter Days, Trick, and Rock Haven. If you're really bored I guess you could watch them . . . other movies are better.

Not entirely GLBT but I love the movie "Camp".

It's mainly about a straight guy who attends a music camp, but pretty much all the other guys there are gay, whereas some of the girls are Lesbian, while most are straight. They even have a drag party during the movie, which is funny cause it was a low budget movie, and you just gotta see it to understand what I mean :0

There is a movie from Québec that I really like called C.R.A.Z.Y. It's another coming of age film and it details the relationship between a guy and his father. It's really well done. Marc-André Grondin is really cute too and a soundtrack laced with Pink Floyd, David Bowie, The Rolling Stones and Jefferson Airplane is always a plus for me!

I really loved Transamerica too.

I just bought Sommersturm but it hasn't arrived in the mail yet so I'm looking forward to it.

Does the movie "Transamerica" count? I thought Felicity Huffman did a great job in it.

Summer Storm was really good, even the not-loved girlfriend was very cute.

Latter Days is kind of cute...

I liked Brokeback Mountain, but it's more geared towards adults (just because they're both adults, so it's not really a typical modern situation).

I'll check out some of the recommended ones

I watched two really good gay asian movies this past week

one is Happy Together by Wong Kar-Wai. really good and for those of you who've watched 2046 i think this is much better than that movie

the other one is a Korean film called No Regrets. It's got a funny ending and everyone in the movie is really cute.

I really want to watch Happy Together. I adore 2046 and In the Mood For Love, but that may be partly to do with the super amazing female roles

Beautiful Thing was AMAZING; the story, the acting, the soundtrack, everything. My favorite movie overall, not just out of LGBT films. I liked Get Real a lot when I first saw it, but I'm actually not sure it was that good. Being a huge "arts nerd" (and an amateur ballroom dancer ), Billy Elliott was really awesome too. Unfortunately, my dear old homophobic parents have blocked off Logo on our TV (and I'm out of ideas for the password) in another fit of whatever-the-hell-it-is, so I'm cut off from one of the good sources.

YES! CRAZY! We even watched it in French class for a audio/visual test. :P I thought that the soundtrack suited the movie very well.
