They don't have to be super old, and they can be just... ten years ago.

My two all time favorite right now are "Sixteen Candles" starring Molly Ringwald and Jon Cusack, and "Police Academy: Their First Assignment."

Gotta agree with The Labyrinth, The Evil Dead, the original House on Haunted Hill, and a plethora of others that just escaped me when I started typing this post. Lol

The Pink Panther movies (Peter Sellars ones), particularly The Pink Panther and A Shot in the Dark.

Sixteen Candles (Sigh I can remember when this came out. It is depressing to contemplate the fact it's "old.")

Same Time, Next Year. This is a late 1970s movie about a man and woman who meet yearly for an affair. It's not particularly dirty--sex is off stage. What is fun is watching them evolve as people from when they meet in 1950-something.

Then there are the original Star Wars triology. I never had any interest--partly because my first exposure to Star Wars was in junior high, when we saw in the worst English class of all time. I would be biased against anything that happened in there.

A couple of years ago, I picked up a used VHS copy of Star Wars for whatever reason, and I was amazed at how good it was. Finding the rest of the original trilogy became a priority. (I now even have a copy The Empire Strikes Back on LaserDisc, which was the perfectionist video medium before DVD.)
