Ahhh from the UK. I don't think it's spread as I've never heard of it...

Certainly I've heard the name before. And my search turns up an impressive number of hits, most of which end in ".com" in the address, making them most likely American. There is even a Facebook page. But then, there are probably Facebook pages these days, even for the latest ax murderer.

I think Steak and Blowjob Day might have gotten its start here in the US. According to my search, it appears that it got its start by a New England radio show host. Probably, one assumes, a joke or gimmick that snowballed.

It's not a holiday I'm interested in. I am not into steaks (borderline vegetarian), and I'd prefer my hypothetical partner to engage in sex acts out of love or passion, not because it happens to be a certain day of the year.

 

...Today is also Pi day.

In Japan, it's white day. Basically, on valentines, the women give guys presents, and on white day, the guys return the favor. doesn't really work for LGBT, though...

That's awful when that happens. As a little kid, it seemed like I got sick every year around the end of October, and at least one year that hit on the day of our Hallowe'en party. Not much fun.

I wouldn't mind steak for dinner. And as for dessert...

 

Pi day occurs twice each year. First on March 14 (and if you really want to celebrate, you should do it at 1:59 for obvious reasons). The second occurance is July 22. The second is most commonly observed in places that use DDMM format dates, while March 14 is more commonly observed where MMDD format dates are common.

 

Apart from a few pictures on my facebook timeline I have never really heard of this before. I highly doubt any woman is going to take it too seriously but I do agree with your sentiments.

 

So I'm guessing this is a thing some jerk who disparately wanted head thought this up.
No woman should be obliged to take part in this. If they want to, that's all fine and good. But making them feel like they need to, if that's the way they're going about it. It's just wrong. And still, the fact someone would make a day for it, a month after valentines. It's like they're saying "We do all the romantic stuff you want on Valentines day. You should repay the favor with steak and oral sex. " But that's just how I read into it.
If your woman is willing, she'll give you oral any other day of the year. If it's not her thing, don't bring up some bs steak and blowjob day. Kinda disgusted here. :I It's making me think that some people like to push there partners boundaries so they can get what they want and that really bugs me.

 

I agree that since this was intended for straight couples so guys could get blowjobs from their girlfriends its pretty sexist... But I feel like there could be something worth salvaging here. Maybe amend it to "steak and oral sex day"
