    A Parent's Guide To Preventing Homosexuality
    By Joseph Nicolosi & Linda Ames Nicolosi.

    I found this book on my father's book shelf the other day. I've been reading through it and he highlighted a bunch of pages and commented on certain things in pen. It talks about how some counselor's are okay with homosexuality and find that there is no proof that it is caused by a traumatic event and such. He wrote STUPID next to it. Is this what the world has come to? So sad that we cannot just BE WHO WE ARE!! For all of you who deal with people that say you are wrong for being gay...THEY are the wrong ones.     I really would like to read that book. Not because I want to prevent mine or anyone's homosexuality, it just looks like an interesting read.

    I second that, it is important to know how some people think about this topic, no matter how wrong-headed. I love writing in the margins of books I disagree with, good training for when you encounter these people face-to-face.

    Agreed. I've been flipping through it, but I do want to sit down and actually read it. The back cover says that it includes witnesses who were gay and "became straight."

    And given the stunning performance of conversion therapy, quite likely these people "became" gay again after the book went to press.

    Nope, no proof of that. Homosexuality is actually caused by demons. Or at least that's what my religious family genuinely and passionately believes. It's hilarious and sad at the same time.
