I was wondering how people in gay relationships slow dance... Do most decide beforehand who's the "man" and "woman" or what? I just randomly wondered this and thought "I'll ask EC!"

Haha, sometimes it's whoever's tallest/shortest, other times it's whoever actually knows how to dance.

^ I second tallest/shortest. Though not dancing, when I give my roommate a hug, we nest in such a way that's most comfortable for both of us since he's taller than I am.

    ^ Awwwww.

But yeah I'd say the taller/shorter...which means I guess I'm going to always lead or w/e give I'm 6'2''. Hard to find someone taller than me lol

Wow, so much warmth from this post :icon_wink

I agree, definitely. Being super tall, it always surprises me when someone hugs me with their arms above mine, effectively immobilizing me and preventing me from participating in the hug :tantrum: Just embrace me and put your head on my chest and let me hold you

I never danced with a guy, but I'd go with "whoever actually knows how to dance" as well

    Pfft..

    jk

(!)It's always my partner. I can't dance for the world. Hopefully, they know how to dance.

As long as my partner knows how to dance he will be the one leading.

It is tallest/shortest in my book. I just need to find a tall guy who can dance.

I am a hopeless romantic. I would love to find someone to slow dance with. I have always dreamed going on like a gay-vacation with others and learn how to slow dance...or other more exotic dance....tango would be fun

Ha. I've never thought about this before, whenever I've slow danced with another woman the positions just sort of happened naturally. For me, personally, it's not so much about height as personality; the more dominant personality has always led and that just seems to be something that we default to because of our respective personalities.

I've thought about this recently too. It does seem like it tends to happen naturally, and I don't think there is really any one set way to go about it.

Same here. He or she will be leading. That really irritated my ex girlfriend.

I have often thought about this. When I was a teenager I did swing dancing which was a ton of fun, but in retrospect it seems gender-specific and heteronormative. I kind of want to pick it up again, but I think I'd be nervous.

This could be an issue, I am short but I can dance . I can dance as lead or follow so I guess it can be their preference.
