    So...anyone here write poetry?

I've tried my hand at it a few times. I find it to be an expressive way to release things I otherwise swallow and stuff in a dark place.

I've done a little… I’ve only ever shown off one. It’s rather sad and has to do with being left behind, but from the view of a flower. Come to think of it, all my pieces have an abandonment theme…

I used to write a lot of poetry (about one poem a day). I haven't written anything recently though.

My poetry's only for sad stuff. For happy stuff, I content myself with not needing an outlet for those emotions.

I love writing poetry. don't think I'd have survived the last few months without it, it's kept me from losing it completely at some points. I've posted a few to my blog if anybody wants to read some.

    I'll check it out!

When do you find you are more likely to write poetry? Some of you have said when you're in a bad place. For me I find that's mostly the same way. Most of my poems are dark. When I'm happy, I'm good just living, but not when I'm mad/sad.

I write lots of poetry too, it's just one of my ways of processing things, of 'keeping myself sane'. Of course I like it if other people like it too, and if it's not completely horrible, but that's not my main goal.
Art in any form, drawing, poetry, prose, music, have greatly helped me in not going mental XD

And yeah, mostly I write poetry at bad moment as well. Those feelings just seem way more intense, and need to be processed a lot more than happy moments...

Sure, I do indulge it from time to time, there are things poetry expresses that mere words, in a logical and linear narrative, cannot express. Even poetry can only hint at these things, but it's better than nothing!

I also write more than poetry. I actually started a new story last night. Dunno where I'm gonna go with it though, haha. I've started back into all areas of my creative life. Reading, writing, drawing, poetry. Guess I just needed the outlet.

I do all the time, I do it for expression I guess, but I hate it when people say that. I only write when I'm inspired, and it seems I just have to write

I use to write poetry when I was 15, I wrote it all in a book which I threw out about a year ago. I made the right decision. I recently stumbled across a poem I wrote back then and it was fucking terrible. I imagine they all were equally horrible. And when people told me they were good, they were lying.

  16. I write way more than I care to admit to...

I tend to write poetry whenever I feel like it and happen to have paper and pencil by me; that's one of the reasons why my homework is always covered in scribble marks because I'm trying to hide what I wrote. Normally, it's about how I'm feeling or what I'm thinking.

It just comes to me and I have to write it down.

Although most of the time it's pretty terrible- I'm better at fictional writing and informative writing.....

I write satirical haikus for fun, but I also do some slam poetry on more serious topics.
