When I listened to Austria's National Anthem the other day, I realized that I didn't know the lyrics AT ALL -_-
(But I know the lyrics of Rainhard Fendrichs "I am from Austria" by heart so that's not too bad xD
It's Austria's "Secret National Anthem" for all those who don't know it)

So do YOU know the lyrics of YOUR National Anthem by heart?

Yes and I hate it, I think it's the most hypocritical fake thing ever written.

    Of course.

Though, many people that "sing" it at events don't seem to know it too well.

"Sing"? You mean those people actually are remotely close to being in tune and have somewhat close to the right lyrics? I'm certain many people don't even realize it has 4 verses.

Well that answered my question. So yes, I do know "The Star Spangled Banner."

I know most of it but I can't remember parts of the second verse.

I only know the first four lines of the Dutch anthem. It has 120... I fail. But I'm not going to try to learn it by heart.

You bet I know it and I sing along loud and proud whenever it's played at a public event. If I'm wearing a hat it comes off and I'm not at all shy about reminding those around me who either forget or think they don't have to.

I've clicked yes, because although God Save The Queen has about 68 verses, nobody knows all of them and we only ever do the first...

I spent many many years forgetting it. I now can't remember any of the words other that 'god' 'save' 'the' and 'queen'

I'm an atheist, an anti-monarchist, and I disagree with the idea of divided nations and national pride. The anthem really doesn't sit too well with me.

I know as much of "God Save The Queen" as the rest of the nation, including one of the Princes: The first verse only, though I am aware there are more.

I know "O'Canada" but sometimes I tend to sing a line earlier than it needs to be sung. The french version I don't remember the lyrics to much at all.

I'm both a Polish citizen and American citizen so I guess I have two national anthems to keep track of. I do think I know "Mazurek DÄ…browskiego" a little better than the Star Spangled Banner. I can sing both but I tend to forgot some words of the US one sometimes :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

I've sang the USA national anthem at a couple football games, so I know it really well. xD

  20. No, but I know our new year song by Cliff Richard - does that make it ok?
