So, I was thinking, what if we compiled a list of all the books we've read with LGBT characters, and gave them a rating out of five? I've only read one, plus part of another series, plus Harry Potter. Updating with other's opinions, too.

    HP: 5
    The Misfits: 4
    House of Night Series: 4
The Perks of Being a Wallflower: 5
    Norwegian Wood: 5
The Portrait of Dorian Gray: 4

    Updated 4/7

This could be fun. I'm wanting to find a book to read about maybe a lgbt kid that tells an amazing story. Any ideas?

Hrmm...The Misfits is about courage and perserverance, but the house of night series is about vampyres.

    Harry Potter: 5

The Portrait of Dorian Gray: 4

If I recall other books with LGBT characters that I've read, I'll update

Tanith Low from the Skulduggery Pleasant book series has been revealed to be bisexual. And she's now starring in her own spin-off book too... and this series is amazing. Legitmately, I cannot stress how awesome this series is. Definite rating of 5.

    J. K. Rowling said in an interview that Dumbledore was gay and that he was in love with Grindelwald when he was young. But it's not stated in the books and his homosexuality is not very relevant throughout the series (except for Dumbledore's own story - e. g. how Grindelwald used his feelings for him or how Dumbledore always says thing about love even though his only love "affair" ended tragically (death of Ariana)).

Hm...I cannot edit the first post anymore...

  17. Harry Potter - J.K Rowling 4
The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay - Michael Chabon 4
Kafka On The Shore - Haruki Murakami 5
Perks of Being a Wallflower-2 (Don't think I finished this I hated it.)

Four books after 15 minutes of REALLY straining my brain, I'm a horrible gay.

Yep, there's a time limit after which you can't edit your posts anymore. It's a bit of a pain, but it's a security provision that helps keep our community safe.

As for me, I can't personally count HP as an LGBT book... just because I didn't read it for LGBT content :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

I've read Will Grayson, Will Grayson. I really liked the writing style. I'd give it a 4/5.

Nightshade by Andrea Cremer is a definite 5!
I didn't think the sequels were as good though... Wolfsbane probably ranks about a 3...
