Couldn't that be also interpreted as there can only be 2 students at prom: 1 girl and 1 boy?

Really, there shouldn't have been anything to "win" in the first place. Students shouldn't have to work for such basic rights as the one to attend school functions together. What reason did the school have to ban them?

    I went to my prom...
    With a girl

Felt horrible for doing it and I'm pretty sure that girl has a crush on me >_>

    We don't talk anymore.

    I am a horrible person!

The article is somewhat incorrect. The 1984 Equal Access Act says that any group that meets the school's requirements for such a group cannot be blocked. This was meant to "protect" prayer groups. However, it has also been applied to GSA's with great success. Irony, no?
However, kudos to them. We need more people like this.

at first i read the first line as "i went to my room...with a girl." i was like woah. anyway, i think i'm caught in the same situation. im asking my friend to prom tomorrow, but its purely platonic. i dont know if she knows that though so well see what happens at the end of the night.

    That's Awesome!

I didn't attend my prom because a friend of mine couldn't go with her gf, and although one of my friends asked me to go with her, cause she didn't want to go alone, I felt it needed some kind of protest, even if just small.

I'm not allowed to go to my Debutaunte Ball with a girl. But that's great that she is allowed to go to her prom. yay for progress.
