How many LGBT people have you actually known in your life?

I've never actually met anyone who's actually openly LGBT in my life. Although I'm still not out of the closet, I really want to know some LGBT friends that could actually help me with things that I can't talk with my straight friends even if they know that I'm gay. It's kind of awkward when it comes to talking about subjects like your crush. At school, even when I'm surrounded with people, I feel lonely sometimes that I can't actually have anyone who understands me to talk with.

    2.

One of my cousin is a lesbian, and a "friend" back in High School is gay (We haven't talked in ages though).

I went to 2 high schools in one town in Texas. One was very openly gay, I was surprised at how many other students there were out, even kissing in the hallways. The other was on the poor side of town, so you know they weren't out at all, if there even were any.
Then I went to a high school in California less than an hour from LA and only met a couple bi's.
It just depends on where you are.

I go to an LGBT youth group, the guy I garden for is gay, and I used to go to an ftm group. I've met a fair number of lgbt people. Oh, and a best friend of mine who I recently contacted after about 8 years is also bisexual

Most of my friends in high school were LGBT. I hung out with the choir and drama kids, and my school was very open and not too bad on bullying. I actually got the honor of being the first person one of my good friends came out to.

I know a few dozen, my best friends are a bi girl and a gay guy. I've met most of them through either my school's LGBT center or my honor's society, which has a lot of queer members. Hooray for going to one the most gay friendly universities in the US.

You're 14; I don't think I had met LGBT people until I was 16 or so, either - they were just some strange, fabled folk you only find on the internet (and I was one of them). If you're from somewhere like Geneva then you're bound to meet way more in the next few years.

I know like two....I do wish I knew more, but being somewhat shy to people I don't know doesn't help sometimes heh...being an introvert sometimes really blows

I know a few, but we don't really get along and I don't really mind. Where I live there's really only a 21+ gay club to meet people and that's about it, so I have nowhere to really meet anyone until I'm in college I guess.

I have met two. One is a lesbian, the other (girl) is bi. Not much opportunity to meet LGBT people at my school, which is why the first club I'm joining in college is either a GSA or an LGBT club.

A few. Best friend is pansexual, and few of my classmates are bi/pan. Don't know a gay guy or a lesbian, though... I don't know any trans people either, which blows.

I have a feeling this will change for the better once I'm in uni.

6 (7 including me) were all in the same year level as me.

Plus another 2, and another 1 and another 3-4 from other places.

So I know/ have met probably about 13-14.

None. I need to get out more, but I'd only be able to notice others if they wore rainbow clothing or a big sign that says 'I'm Gay!' or something. I probably come into contact with LGBT people everyday, but have no idea of their orientation.
