Default Places to get a job?

I'm fifteen and need a job so I can get more than like two things from the winter season lol.

I know about supermarkets ( I applied for one but they never rang back . Bitches.)

But are there any other places I could get my first job?

Until you're 16... you should keep trying the walmart or kroger or whatever. Keep calling them back.

Most places require you to be 16. (Easiest way to ensure reliable transportation.)

My first job was at Kirkland's Home when I was 18. I'm now at belk and applying elsewhere so I can have two jobs.

my first job was at a little chicken shop, it was in the paper, i just applied for it..

just keep a look out when you go into shops... theres a lot of places that just say, staff wanted.... or print out a heap of reasume's and just go and hand them in everywhere.. someone may call you back, or keep you on their list for when they do need people...

good luck

Walmart and target are good places Because if they are desperate they will hire you on the spot i applied and had interviews for both i choose target because it was the one to call me first. Im banned for 6months for not taking the wal-mart job offer and the good thing about target is the Pre scheduled interviews

Depending where you live at it could be a really hard process finding a job. Not to rain your party i was 19 when i got my first job good luck!

i quit my job at target because of some issues and im back in the jobless pool.

I've worked in the retail sector since I was 16. So, my advice is coming from years of experience, including some time from the other side of the hiring desk.

Many retail stores will not hire minors until they turn 16. Those under 16 are limited, more than those 16 and over, to the hours that they may work per day and per week. They also may not do as many jobs, for safety reasons.

Also, if you applied for that position at the supermarket within the past three months, you might want to reapply. The retail sector just came out of its slow period for the year (after Christmas tends to be slow in retail). Many retail stores do not hire unless necessary during that time, because they do not have the labor hours budgeted to train new people. Your new application will stand a better chance of getting noticed, rather than relying on an application that is probably buried under a small mound of paperwork on a manager's desk.

try going and asking in places like hotels/cafes .. they sometimes employ younger people (in the UK anyway) and just dont be afraid to ask.

i have had the same job in a cafe for the past two years and i love it .. the people i work with are all really friendly and i love being able to prepair some of the food.

What do you mean? Did they ban you from shopping at WalMart because you didn't take the job? That would be crazy (in my opinion). I got offered a couple of jobs at the same time (the one I'm currently at, as well as Woolworths and a small retail shop selling games and stuff). Anyway, I didn't get banned or anything, they probably wouldn't even remember me after about 5 minutes hehe

Try CVS/pharmacy. They're a wonderful employer.

I worked there for two years and I must say I have a lot of fun there, but it starts to die out on a 6 hour or longer shift, though.

You aren't banned for 6 months, you just aren't supposed to submit another application to them within that time, call and ask if the job is still open :3

I've been looking 3 years now, sent in way too many applications, too many parents in the town who needs jobs, kicking out all the 16-19 year olds who need them -.-

My first job was a paper route--quite traditional for someone young. I did a very little bit of babysitting. My first "real" job (real "nightmare" actually) was for McDonald's. *shudder* 1 year, 9 months, 3 weeks, 2 days, 6 hours, 43 minutes, and 2 seconds of hell. (That's only truly accurate to the months.)

How old you have to be before an actual company will hire you is completely dependent on your jurisdiction: country, state/province. So check up on the employment laws wherever you live. It was 15 in BC when I was a teenager... it's disturbingly 12 now if you have parental permission. God damned BC Liberals and their neo-liberal agenda.

Good luck... it really sucks trying to find a decent job when you haven't finished high school, I know.

I got my first 'real' job when I was 14 working at a gas station. I had to get my parent's written permission but I really liked the money and it was only on weekends so it didn't affect school.

I feel kind of guilty at the moment. I currently have three jobs. The way I see it, sleep is for the weak! There'll be plenty of time to sleep when I'm dead.

But really, I'm going to quit one of them and focus on the other two in a few months.
