The city as a whole is LGBT friendly.. or was when I went. Just being able to hold hands on the side walk was new to me... can't do that down here in the south.

greenwich village is very LGBT friendly, I suggest going there....

Can't you club if you're 18? You just can't drink.

There used to be a pretty awesome 18+ club night in NYC but I'm pretty sure it closed down. You might want to search "18+ gay nyc" on Google.

It's too bad you're going in August when most people are still not going to be at uni because otherwise you could just head out to one of the local uni gay group's events.

But yeah Greenwich/Chelsea is very, very gay.
