I've been thinking about this a lot lately. I don't think I would. I love so many things about being gay, like not worrying about getting pregnant, getting to live in interesting places, having a shot at a totally equal relationship, feeling like I'm a member of a special secret club.

I would consider taking a pill to make myself girly, though. I try not to, but I have always hated myself for being butch.

If you're bisexual/some other thing and you voted "no," say what you like about being bisexual/some other thing!

    Depends (as always).

If I could be the same person that I am now, just be attracted to girls, then sure. I like the person I am and the character I've developed, and a lot of that is simply due to being gay/coming out. Liking girls would just make it easier to get a date.

If it was like I never dealt with any of this in the first place, then no.

It's something that defines who I am as a person, as are the experiences both bad and good it has brought me.

I wouldn't take a pill to make me straight, but I'd definitely take a pill that would turn me cis gendered. Holy shit would I take that pill with no questions asked.

Nope. The only reason I could think of taking it would be for acceptance so life could be a little easier, but why would I want to be accepted by a bunch of bigoted douchebags anyway?

    I'd consider it.

On many levels, I'm not interested in being straight. For one thing, I have little interest in procreating.

But...intellectually, I think it could be interesting to be straight after having been gay. A chance to compare the two, and live a wider range of life than most do.

Also: it would make getting a relationship easier in some ways.

    Nah.

There probably would be some weird side effects anyway.

It's sort of nonsensical asking me this question. I'm already attracted to women so you're asking if I would take a pill that would shut off my attraction to men, for basically no benefit I can discern whatsoever other than making my love life a bit simpler. I find the idea repulsive. It's like cutting off a piece of my soul.

I voted I'd rather be straight.
I love my boyfriend so I wouldn't want to change the situation.
But hate being gay, eventhough my parents are supportive.

Probably would be. There usually are.

I remember reading once an article that illustrated this one. I can't remember the drugs involved, but it started by giving an imaginary patient Drug A to fix Problem 1. There are side effects, so Drug B gets prescribed to address those. More side effects. And it keeps going until the person is on several drugs, and the last drug's side effect is Problem 1 again.

No. I'm who I am today partly because of my sexuality. Also, I wouldn't give up my relationship with my boyfriend just to potentially make life easier. That's just ridiculous.

This poll again, huh? Well, the first time I answered a poll with the same question, I said yes. I was still uncomfortable with being a lesbian back then. I've changed since then, though. I learned to love myself for who I am, for all that I am. That includes being a lesbian. Now, I wouldn't have myself any other way. I love women and it's part of who I am.

I'll be honest...maybe. I mean, I don't hate it as much as I once did, but it has caused SUCH turmoil...maybe. Then again, it is who I am...so maybe not.
    Ummmm...I don't know...lol

Anything that effects brain chemistry that much can't be trusted...

I mean I've heard of allergy medications that cause anal leakage for crying out loud... so why would I trust a pill like that!?

we've had this a few times, but my answer hasn't changed.

NO! Conformity isn't how you make the world a better place, or a more accepting one. Become what someone else thinks you should be isn't answer to anything.

I'm gay, I like it, I like me. So, either deal with it or f:***:k off.
