Hearing gay slurs day after day at my school, really gets to you. I go to a Catholic private where ironically, they preach a community of respect and love. (I hate it there. The education is great, but the students are assholes.) Suffice to say, it gets old after a while. So, I was sitting in my class one day while some douchebags crooned out slurs, and it came to me: what if LBGT people started using straight slurs? I mean what would that be that? "No hetero!" "Straiggghhhtt!" "Ohmygod- Did you see those cargo shorts! I mean-what? Is he like straight or something?"
It'd be funny and quite a role-reversal, but in all seriousness, that's not something that needs done. I'd like a time when everyone can just get along.
Darkness cannot drive out darkness. However, it would be freaking hilarious to see a group of gay guys mocking somebody for acting straight. "I bet you've got a porn folder that's just STUFFED with girls." XD
It wouldn't put a dent in heterosexual privilege but it certainly wouldn't be good for our cause. (Cis) hets would hate us even more.
The only anti-straight slur I know is "breeder," and I've never gotten the impression that straight people are hurt by it. They seem more hurt by the general idea that an anti-straight slur even exists. They're all, "See? This is what happens when you give them rights, people!" Sigh...
I think straight slurs suck because they have no power. What you need to work on is how to physically intimidate and socially undermine homophobes. The only way that heterosexist patriarchy will ever end is if it's made unsafe.
