Default Lie Detector Test

If your parents, close relative, or friend wanted you to take a lie detector test about your sexual status as well as anything that they wanted to know about your homosexual experiences, would you be open to taking one?

No, because they do know I'm gay, and I've never done anything big with another guy, but one of my friends felt like experimenting with me while I was asleep -.- I woke up in the middle of it >_< Nothing bad though, (I mean nothing that isn't over PG-13 =P)

He's engaged now o.O;

And btw, you sure are making a lot of topics, rofl

I wouldn't really mind it. Considering my age I haven't really done anything sexual that I wouldn't want them to know about, and I was planning on coming out through the Day of Silence anyway. A little bit sooner wouldn't kill me.

Of course, I'd be curious about why they wanted me to take such a test in the first place.

No because its really none of their business. I tell them what I want them to know and nothing else. Most of them know about me anyway and I don't think they really want to know the details of what I do behind closed doors (which isn't much these days).

No, I would not be open to the idea of taking one. It isn't that I lie to my parents, it is simply that there are certain things that I chose not tell them. It's not lying, it is really none of their business to begin with.

If they want to know something about me then they can ask me. If I'm comfortable about telling them then I'll tell them otherwise I'll tell them that it isn't any of their business.

I'd be offended that the person asking me to take the test trusted a soulless machine more than they trust me.

If you know enough about lie detector tests you can fool them or at least make sure they can't get the truth from you.

I've had exactly zero experience with girls, but I still wouldn't want to be tested. I'd rather they just trusted me.

In my experience, polygraph examinations are administered by asking question that your answers will only be "Yes" or "No". Prior to actually being hooked up to the machine, the administrator of the test would ask you the questions and then allow you to explain your answers.

That being said, although I told that administrator more than I ever told anyone else about my previous sexual encounters (yes it did come up in the course of the investigation and no it wasn't for Fox's "Moment of Truth"), I would not want to experience that again. Nor would I want to go into even more detail than what I had to for that examination. The entire process in mentally draining.

Very good points, and it's actually exceedingly easy to fool lie detectors when you know what to do (please don't ask me how, or how I know that :P). However, I think this strays from the idea of the question. I think it's more of a question of, would you put yourself in a situation where you'd be forced to tell the whole truth about your sexual status as well as anything that they wanted to know about your homosexual experiences.
