Hey just wondering has anyone here come out to their parents by letter?? How did it go?? Do you think it was a good way to come out?? Thats the way I'm thinking of doing it because I can put how I feel into words better then saying it out loud.

I came out to my parents by letter. I left it taped to the door out to the garage (the way everyone leaves the house). I liked this way because I could plan out what I wanted to say...and they couldn't interrupt me at all.

It worked for me...but I guess you have to decide for yourself if that's what you want.

My son came out to me by e-mail. It was fine. We were able to talk about it afterward.

I came out to my parents by letter, then went down to talk to them after 15 minutes. it was pretty good, because I could plan it out. But they're the kind of parents who were always going to react OK. I would say it's a good method, but you have to follow it up with a conversation.
