    Avalanche Lake, near Lake Placid. It's a great hike- not too long or short. And there are little salamanders in the water you can look at =) Not very popular, either, so it's peaceful.

    Hebden Bridge, just a bus journey away from my town. Set out old fashioned and very peaceful (until it rains or snows!) Very rarely go there unfortunately.

    Yes! I honestly mistook that picture for a village near me, which makes sense because the areas are very similar. I wouldn't quite say it's my favourite place in the world.

    Oh, now I'm really jealous. I've been wanting to see a night sky like that for a few years after I saw this : Lights Out

    Too much light pollution where I live to see anything besides a giant black sky with a few barely shining dots here and there with a lonely moon.

    Hex: That's a beautiful picture. Maybe I can see a sky that beautiful when I head out of town this weekend. The Toledo-Detroit area just has way too much light pollution. I'm going to the Highland Games on Saturday. Might leave Friday, and sleep in the car, so I don't have to worry about the parade blocking the only way into town in the morning.
