“A country that considers itself civilised cannot afford to live without a law against 'homophobia', an evil that drives many young people to take their own lives,”
    -Italian Politician, Laura Boldrini

Italy is considered the most homophobic country in Western Europe. This is due to influence from the Vatican and Catholic culture. There is often a lot of gay hate crimes and bullying that are not brought to justice.

Well that crosses Italy off the list of possible countries to move abroad to when I'm older. It's sad but honestly doesn't surprise me - homophobia is everywhere.

Ugh. Do they know how gay saying 'pizza pie' in an Italian accent is? There must be quite a few hate crimes in Italy against bakers.
