Agreed. If you've been married to three different people of the opposite gender for less than a year each, how is that not worse than two guys married for life because they genuinely and deeply love each other?

 

I also get its unnatural argument a lot.

 

The one that annoys me is when people claim that homosexuals are responsible for natural disasters. How stupid do you get?

I remember listening into this one guy on a forum being like "I'm so sick of these damn gays complaning about their lives! I don't want to listen to it!" And I tried talking sense to him "Dude, it's hard being gay, blah blah, lay off, not your place". Kid you not, he goes on some rant ala Scrooge and is all "Well if it's so hard, they should all commit suicide and decrease the surplus population. Peter Puffer! Suck a dick! Faggot!"

Kim Kardashian's "marriage" lasted for only a couple of months. I bet she just wanted the publicity. Larry King had 8 divorces. Besides, 50% of all traditional marriages end up in divorce. When was the last time gay marriage had caused a divorce of a traditional couple? (That's a trick question, that has never happened).

 

Who said marriage was better sanctified anyway?

Just from experience, my siblings live in Maryland and Minnesota, respectively, where same-sex marriage is legalized/will be legalized at the state level. I often communicate with them, and never once have they said that their own marriages are threatened. I expect that most reasonable people would agree with them as well.

If anti-marriage equality opponents are so concerned about preserving its sanctity, then why aren't they focusing more energy on telling straight, married couples not to divorce than actively ensuring that same-sex couples remain as second class citizens? Hell, given that the divorce rate is so high, they should contact legislators right now to ban divorce b/w straight couples. >_>

Marriage is a societal institution, not a product of the natural world. So their argument probably boils down to feelings of uneasiness about homosexuality itself.
