Do you consider the term "fuck" or "fucking" crude when referring to sexual intercourse? I've noticed, both in the hetero community and homo community, it is used frequently to refer to intercourse but especially normal in the gay community. Even among loving couples, they might say, we "fucked." Does this carry a negative, positive or indifferent connotation to you?

I am just trying to figure out if I need to realign my thinking on this.

I think it's a crude and irreverent way to talk about sex. Yes, when somebody says we "slept together" or "made love" we all know what they're talking about, but "fuck" also has a generally bad connotation. Why would you turn a beautiful act of intimacy into an image of relative violence?

^^Not that the word doesn't have its place in dirty talk, but all I'd say is to make it sound like the act itself means something to you.

    Used to be indifferent-to-positive.
    Now indifferent-to-negative.

I prefer hearing "We had (great)(unbelievable)(whatever) sex."

Lol I've heard loving couples say, "When we were fucking..." and I go through a bit of cognitive dissonance and wonder if the term is now normalized to just mean simply "sex." lol

Fuck is an incredible word in the aspect that it is commonly used in such a wide variety of grammatical ways.

    I don't give a fuck. - noun
    We fucked. - verb
Don't you fucking mess with that turtle. - adverb
    That fucking bastard. -adjective

It can also be implemented inside other actual words: in-fucking-credible

Lol yeah, I don't mind the word itself. I was just talking about using it to mean sex. Also still good if you mean for it to be insulting, such as "I can't believe you fucked Lumberg!"

In the context of "dirty talk" would, sometimes, my husband (we're legally married in our district, will ask me to Fuck him...it kind of throws me off (in a good way). I guess I am too Victorian and need to become more comfortable with the word!

Me and my guy use it alot in sex, its like the only correct context for it, and well it suits the emotions I am getting, its a powerful word for a powerful feeling.

Since I am a sub, I love it when he goes "I'm going to fuck you now"

Quoting for emphasis. I'm sort of the same, I consider it, in the right context, could be a turn on or appropriate when you're with someone you want to be with.

However, people throw it in your face, such as strangers wanting to hook up, definitely not appropriate, obviously. It is crude that way.

Pretty much, if it comes from someone who you care about-it could be just normal given the situation; from a stranger-NO THANKS!

Apparently, "Fuck" is one of the most versatile words in the English language! It can either be good and have strong positive meaning or negative with strong negative meaning! I must consider context.

It's too much for me. Don't like it. I'll never use it to describe anything I'm doing.
And it bothers me how others are so blah about it.
    But to each his own.

To me, fucking is a particular type of sex so I think it's fine.

I think that using it in the past tense, "We fucked," is crude-sounding. But, during fucking, or before fucking, I think that it's hot when one says "I want you to fuck me," or "Let's fuck," or the like.

I'd just say 'making love'. Since the f word can lead to some ambiguity in meaning.

I use the word fuck in general conversation, but when it comes to talking about having sex I think it's really crude.

    THIS^

however I think I may be indifferent to negative. Sometimes you want to fuck, sometimes you want to make love. I'd never use it to describe sex outside of my SO though.

While "fuck" is my favorite cuss word to use in casual conversation, I despise when people use it to talk about sex. It just makes it sound so dirty.
