Is "flip hair" a style or a look? Or is it called a "hair flip?" Are they the same thing or are they different? And someone mentioned this as being a stereotype of sorts, about himself. Is it stereotyped with anything or is it not?

The Flip was a popular hairstyle for boys when I was in junior high school. I don't think it's much in style nowadays, it's kinda dull and outdated imo. All the hair was flat except for a 'flip' in the front that stuck up. I don't know if that's what you were referring to though.

Do you mean the style where you used a brush and a blow dryer to flip the hair in front? John Travolta had that style in Saturday Night Fever. Disco is the stereotype that comes to mind.
