That was awesome. When I came out to my uncle, he was shocked and for the first time actually knew a gay person. He became more accepting seeing how "normal" I am; although I kinda hate that because if I had been "different," he might not have been as accepting. But coming out to people who don't really know any GLBT folk is great because it puts a face to the issue and may make them think hard when they pull the lever on gay issues.

I love TED talks. Some of them are quite inspiring. I actually watched this one a few weeks ago.

Amazing TED talk. Really puts things into a much more ethical and personal perspective.

wow! i always like to tell people talk to a gay couple see how their relationship is and look at their love and then tell me they dont deserve every equal right, there is a cute long distance lesbian couple that i follow on youtube and everytime i watch their videos and see they love they have i just think how can people deny them anything.

This is pretty incredible. America as country has a lot to learn and so does the rest of the world for that matter. Looking into all those faces, I can honestly say I can feel them and know them on some level. I hope that advocacy like this thrives and is able to do as it is intended.

on a lighter note...is that woman single? hahaha

I especially liked her question as to what point on the hetero- homo-sexual continuum do we become a second-class citizen...

That was a good question wasn't it. However, I've noticed that most homophobes refuse to view sexuality as anything other than homosexual and heterosexual, and thus wouldn't concede that there is a continuum at all.

Simple-minded people tend to look at things in black and white, good vs. evil, US against THEM, Man against God...dichotomies that Buddhists abhor...(they call it "freedom from opposites")
