Hmmm, what happens?

Open Microsoft Word and do the following:

1. Type in capitals Q33 NY. This is the flight number of the first

plane to hit one of the Twin Towers.

2. Highlight the Q33 NY.

3. Change the font size to 48.

4. Change the actual font to the WINGDINGS

I just got told to do this but i don't have microsoft word. The result is supposedly spooky but i can't test it. Anybody willing to test it?

I've seen this before, I deleted the windings fonts so I can't either

In 2004 there was a "critical update" released by Microsoft which delivered a new version of one of their fonts to remove the 2 swastika characters. This caused quite a fuss at the time since "critical updates" are intended for security related stuff and not to ease Microsoft's embarrassment! People who think Swastikas are only a symbol of (or were even invented by) Nazi Germany need education. Silly Microsoft, and indeed anyone who felt it was an inappropriate character.

^The "swastika" symbol that we see was originally the Buddhist "manji" that appeared on the hands, feet and chest of the Buddha. One clear difference is that the swastika was usually shown in a diamond shape, and the manji was usually displayed as a square.

I think Microsoft are fully aware that the symbol was not invented by Nazi Germany. However, one aspect of running a successful business is that you have to be willing to humour people's stupidity.

For example, an early computer system was built in a layout which removed its need for a fan. It was a faulty system, and people blamed the lack of a cooling fan. Sales plummetted. So, the company added a pointless but noisy and conspicuous fan. Sales rose again.

i interpreted the jewish symbol not to mean the jews did 911.
but as "death to jews/israel"

it symbolizes the war islam's middle eastern countries (iran) is/are waging on jews (israel).
america's main ally in the middle east is israel.
which is part of the reason the middle east doesnt like us.

and about swastikas. obviously people who dont know the original meaning of swastikas are going to find them offensive. even people who do know still might find them as a not so pleasant image.
the swastika's "image" was ruined by nazi germany. which is why its not thought of the same anymore.

If Microsoft knew, then I take back my comment. But I feel the comment that people need to learn more about swastikas is still entirely valid, they just do. Education over censure. I feel people should try to actually educate rather than just leave ignorant, Microsoft removes the swastika - no one's really better off except them in terms of money. Which is what they're out to get, but it does seem rather irresponsible not to tell people that they don't know what they're boycotting.

I agree. Microsoft don't need to be responsible. They keep having to sell stock just to stop them breaking monopoly laws.
