    Hey guys,

So I'm curious, how long did your parents say they knew you were gay (or LGBT in general)? Mine said they knew for about a year before I came out :icon_bigg.

I haven't come out to them, I fear bad things will come my way (kicked out, cut off, or both). But I do have a suspicion they suspect something and that suspicion arose 6 years ago. Yeah I'm that deep in the closet to them.

Way to go /sarcasm haha. I went on a website which had a link designated as "Do Not Click Here" (so naturally I clicked on it). When I clicked on it, a sound came on and looped that said "I'm looking at gay porn...I'm looking at gay porn..." my mom didn't hear that or pretended not to hear.

  5. I'm not sure, but I think my mom has suspected for a long time. In high school, my mom caught me on a lesbian forum, and sobbing, she asked me if I thought I was lesbian, which I denied. I thought she had believed me and forgotten, but she didn't seem very surprised when I came out to her a couple months ago, so maybe not. She didn't cry this time.

I also have no idea if my dad knows. If he does, he's keeping it to himself. Part of me thinks he may at least be considering the possibility that I may be gay just because I've never mentioned anything about liking boys, but I really have no idea.

Argh, I wish my parents knew. I told my mom a month ago, but she didn't really believe me and is now back to asking about boys. I haven't had the heart to remind her. :frowning2: I look femme and she attributes homosexuality to appearance, so she never suspected.

I don't think my parents wanted to completely assume. If anything, they thought I was straight, considering before I came out, Dad was always talking to me about how to treat "The ladies" which usually involved treating them unequal to you. Yes, it was "be nice to them" but more like "always think they're queen" when I know some girls actually don't want that.

My mom's best friend on the other hand, suspected it almost from the moment I was born XD

i am not sure but my mom DID say she knew or at least highly suspected. She said she was actually going to come out and ask me if I was trans many times but just never did. She said it was mainly cuz of the way I always rejected gender roles aka how I would always cringe noticably and try and hush her up whenever she forced anything masculine on me, deeerp (which got realy rare in recent years).

But yeah thats my mother. Veeeery perceptive, or else maybe I have always just been obvious, lolz!

I voted 16-17 because I think my parents asked me once if I was gay around that age, and after I came out to them 5 years later they did say that they had "some" doubt, but there was no certainty.

My mom probably started suspect in 2011, when she found an open Gmail chat box containing a message from a guy calling me baby.

I've been asked for years why I want to look like a guy or if I have any friends that are girls and why I don't wear makeup or do my hair. I'm not sure if they actually suspect anything, but I worry that they do. My sister's evidently known for a long time but has no respect for it.

I came out last year, when I told my mom she didn't say a specific time frame but she said she had suspected for years. She always felt it was something I should say instead of her asking me about it.

The first time my mom asked me if I was gay was in middle school. I still haven't said "I'm gay" to her. So 24+ months? Hmm it makes me wonder how long she suspected, though.

I do remember dressing up with my sister in a dress in like kindergarten lolol. I used to be so much more feminine lol.

I don't know how long my mother had been reading my mail, which is how she found out. My father didn't mention prior guesses or anything. He just said "I like girls too" and then told me what my mother had done. I doubt anything in my behavior tipped them off, but a series of letters from one person living where I went to college made my mother wonder.

My parents didn't say if they knew. They did say they were worried growing up when I didn't ask them about boys or sex (I've always had a preference for girls). Now they think my attraction for girls will go away if I date boys (lololol nope).
