What has been your longest flight (nonstop) and from where to where?

    Mine:

Munich, Germany to Atlanta, Georgia: 10 hours and 55 minutes.

    Another "weird" one -

Munich to San Francisco CA on Lufthansa, and not ONE empty seat. I'm thinking between 11 and 12 hours. And my only "go around," meaning he pulled the plane up to circle one more time just as he had cleared the San Mateo Bridge and was approaching the runway.

London, England, to Auckland, New Zealand. Half a globe, peeps. Not quite non-stop -- we landed for an hour in Beijing to refuel -- but it was something like 24 hours total (13 then 11, or something like that), and that was just in one direction.

    It was worth it

NYC to Rome. Took 8 hours. Not to mention the other flight I had to take to get to Calabria.

Toronto to Beijing, non-stop, over the North Pole (you basically go north until you start going south again) -- 13 hours (at the end of it the flight attendants looked frazzled)

My trip from New York City to Vietnam took about 20 hours. The airplane stopped at airports in Anchorage, Alaska and Taipei, Taiwan for about an hour each before reaching our destination at Ho Chi Minh City.

well, I once went from London to Doha (8 hours), an 8 hour stop over, then Doha to Jo'berg (8 hours). Then I did it in reverse two weeks later. I swear, Doha airport is about as close to hell as anyone will ever get.

That's a pretty crazy flightpath, but I guess the Earth isn't perfectly spherical and 'fatter' around the equator. I've never taken a super long flight (or been on many aeroplanes at all), but I've taken two 30 hour bus journies (have I spelt that wrongly? :s) from Scotland to the south of France, and a 45 hour journey on a dirty, crowded sleeper train across Kazakhstan in 40c. The latter was an awesome experience but both were painful. Fully worth it though!

From Baltimore to LA, though not sure exactly how long. The airport at LAX seemed very dumpy, was my main memory.

Though I do recall my shortest flight: From Charlevoix, Michigan to Beaver Island, Michigan: About 15 minutes, on a ten-seater plane, and I got to sit next to the pilot. It was loud, but so much more fun than a big plane: the view over Lake Michigan, and watching all the controls, halfway wondering: If this guy (the pilot) had a sudden heart attack, could I do what I see him doing? Probably not, but it was the best flight ever.

As a passenger - 11 Hours to Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia

As a pilot - 5 hours during my PPL Skills Test (I am a pilot just saying :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:)

  17. Missoula to Denver. Not very long. Less than 2 hours. I have a longer trip tomorrow (Missoula to San Jose), but it has two flights, so it doesn't count.

    About 11 hours

Moscow (Sheremetyevo) to New York City (JFK)

Then we spent a few more agonizing hours sitting on the damn runway taxiing until we finally had room to dock and unload...
