    Hi

What words do you find more offensive in the gay community ?
I hate the words Queer, shirt lifter and the question which some people ask "Do you bat for the other side ? "
    I tend to reply " I don't play cricket"
Gay is fine but there are so many words out there which just really make me angry.

Honestly growing up around here I've been so desensitized to it.

99% of people that use gay words as insults don't really mean to hate, they just never thought properly about what theyre saying because EVERYONE here (at least men) use fag/homo/gay as their almost go-to light-hearted jest/insult.

From what I know it's similar in the UK, I think in the US people are a bit more offended by it because in general their societies are less open to having a laugh at paying each other out/etc. Not that I find it particularly funny, its just the way things are.

I would have to say faggot is the most offensive to me. but then fag doesn't have the same impact in my mind - it seems alot 'softer'. I guess (around here at least) - fag is just a commonly used insult/jest, but people seem to more often say 'faggot' when they really mean to say something offensive and truely anti-gay.

I find most of them hilarious! Whoever invented 'arse bandit' is a genius, regardless of whether it was for all the wrong reasons.

I despise the word faggot. I don't mind carpet muncher when it is used in a jokingly way.

I really hate when ignorant straight guys always ask me, "So who is the man in the relationship?" I usually reply with "You are totally missing the whole point of me being a lesbian."

Faggot and fudge-packer are two of the worst. Even when used in a joke is depressing...

I hate faggot too. Cocksucker, while descriptive is also offensive.

I hate hearing cis gay or bi people using transphobic terms. "No fems or fats" also grinds my gears.

All the name-calling business is just crap and I tend to ignore them because I'm used to that since 6th grade. But my most hated word would be 'fag' or 'faggot' sounds just wrong.

To be quite honest, none of them really offend me. I mean I grew up in a place where these terms are used jokingly. I must say; however, I have surrounded myself with friends that stay politically correct so I don't hear these words anymore or if I do, I don't notice.

I dislike fag. Everything else is funny to me. But I guess even fag can be used in a non homophobic, funny way. Personally I think people should just lighten up. Even gay people use these words! It's all about context.

(and even if things are used in an offensive way.. I am hardly ever offended by it..)

I am not a fan of the word faggot and it's abbreviation, but I'm pretty chill about that as well.

It's interesting in that since I came out the hurtful words and phrases bother me less than they did before coming out. I guess, like a lot of others, I dislike faggot more than any.

I absolutely hate the words "fag/faggot" and "cocksucker". Anything else is pretty hilarious to me. I also tell people to refrain from using terms like "dyke", "tranny", and other words like such to describe an LGBT person, because people do not like those words either.

actually, i am going to be honest here, i don't really mind the term tranny. yes it CAN be extreeemely offensive when a cis person uses it, and i would honestly prefer cis people not use it at ALL. but me and a couple of transgender friends use it all the time, lolz. we call ourselves the tranny trio, lolz. i think if a transperson uses it, it can be used endearingly. just MHO.

the term i haaaate is shemale OMFG. like seriously, don't use that term around me if you want to live.
