Seriously, it sounds like a load of nonsense, like you have any choice over your sexuality, its not a lifestyle is it
The only thing different from the heterosexual lifestyle is who you love. Both can be equally safe or dangerous, depending on how safe or reckless you are. So yes, pile of rubbish indeed.
Extreme promiscuity with people of the same gender. This is, of course, conservative and religious propaganda. There is nothing wrong with promiscuity and gay sex, and not all gay people engage in promiscuity anyway.
Homosexual lifestyle is similar to the heterosexual lifestyle. The only things different in the homosexual lifestyle is that one likes people of the same gender, have glittering unicorns that farts rainbows and is generally more fabulous:lol:
YA Novelist Chris Crutcher had some interesting things to say about the "gay lifestyle" in something he wrote that talked about gays and the Boy Scouts:
There is no homosexual lifestyle. There is a party lifestyle, a nomad lifestyle, a typical suburbian lifestyle, but NOT a homosexual lifestyle. It makes no f*cking sense and it grinds my gears.
It's a blanket statement that isn't an accurate reflection of gay people. If you ever watched the U.S. version of Queer as Folk, the things that occur in that show are probably what social conservatives refer to - gay clubs, sex, drugs. But that's only an aspect of a person's life, and not all gay people are involved in that part of gay culture. Furthermore, regardless of your sexual orientation, you can just as easily be involved with sex and drugs. As long as everything is consensual, then I don't see why social conservatives have temper tantrums and wish to control other people's lives.
