Almost the entire town I live is conservative. I know of a handful of supportive people, but right now I've only come out to one person who I go to school with and a friend who is lesbian herself. Almost every day I here people verbally express their hatred for members of LGBT community. The people who are out where I live are very isolated by those who aren't supportive. I'm only a teen so coming out is a tough ride for me (knowing that I can't get away from the hate easily) I don't want to hide who I am anymore!

:help: How and when should I come out?

First of all your own safety is paramount. Being a teen you will be in a very vulnerable position in such a hostile environment. I think you should really weigh the pros and cons very carefully.

I would only come out to the people that you know will be accepting and will keep it a secret. Your safety is, as Kyle said, paramount. Be very careful.
