What denomination is your dad? Maybe you could try getting the documentary, "For the Bible Tells Me So" and asking him to watch a movie with you.
Hugs! I'm thinking that you might contact a pastor at a gay friendly church in your area. Googling, came up with this one Everett UCC Meet with the pastor there to talk about your situation - s/he may well have ideas on how to approach your Dad. Are you out to other family members? They, too, might be able to help you in figuring out how best to approach him.
I think Pete has a very good idea. Having another pastor help you will ease your mind, and help you to know what to say to your dad. He, or she, might have some very good insight, and be a great support system to you, not only in coming out to your dad, but with your sexuality in general.

It's a documentary on what the Bible says about homosexuality, and it talks about the culture of the time. It is very fascinating and shows how homosexuals are children of God also, and how a lot of the Bible is misunderstood/misinterpreted. You can get it on Netflix. Watch it and see what you think.
