Well remember that there are 5 stages to loss, and though they have not lost their son, they have lost the idea of a straight son. They are denial, anger, bargaining, grief, and acceptance. Sounds like your mom has accepted it, and you Dad is coming around. Dont let it affect the way you think about him, he's probably just a little emotionally unattached to a lot of things, and is having a hard time squelching any kind of feelings he has right now.
