What if a small town made a group for LGBT people to attend and they were actually just trying to get an idea of who and how many. Taking this information and finding out where you are and who your with etc., Then you get someone parking in front of your house taking pictures and looking like they are writing stuff down and looks straight at you and looks to be putting an X mark on the paper....What the hell to do??? And it's happened more than once...the picture thing once for the X thing
You don't indicate a small town, unless you're outside of the location written. Mind boggling that this would happen in California. Don't partake unless you know your privacy is assured. When you wrote up the title, I thought it was about someone getting chummy with you to manipulate you to come out. I've had that happen. I had a younger coworker who hung around with me constantly, who I just liked because he was so funny and went to the same college, and he got really inquisitive about my "spare time" activities. I had lunch with a friend who worked in another department he transferred into, who is my age and single, and he did the same number on him. Unless it's an informal get together without any public fanfare, take a pass on it.
