Basically I'm coming out to my parents in the summer but in a very strange way. I've written an opera and it's going to be performed on July. It's about a guy coming to his Christian parents in a nutshell. I'm playing the boy by the qay. Anyway, after this I leave them a letter and I go stay at a mates house for a few nights, until they call or text me (which won't be for a few days) this is so the original shock dies down before the think about it. Good plan?
A bit over the top,you can just tell them normally... much less work,but if you want it fabulous its your choice.
That's the coolest coming out idea I've ever heard of, actually. I hope you parents enjoy the opera and learn something from it that they can use after reading your letter. Just be sure to make clear to them that you'll be alright and that you haven't run away from home, just so they don't have to worry about your safety, okay?

You might want to make the arrangements for staying at the friend's house ahead of time so their is no worry. Whatever you do, be safe. BTW you sound very creative and talented to have written an opera that you will star in.
